Glucosamine Sulfate SR Tablets

Glucosamine Sulfate tablet is best medicine for treatment of arthritis and joint pain. Glucosamine sulfate is a naturally occurring chemical found around Cartilages in joints in human body and it is in the fluid that is around joints. There are different forms of glucosamine including glucosamine sulfate, glucosamine hydrochloride and N-acetyl-glucosamine. If we take for example, dietary supplements which contain naturally occurring chemical, they also contain glucosamine sulfate but that is derived from shells of shellfish. Glucosamine sulfate used in dietary supplements does not always come from natural sources. It can also be made in a laboratory. Glucosamine Sulfate SR tablet is also used for several other remedies such as glaucoma and weight loss.


Treatment of arthritis: Generally people do ignore the pain that occurs in their joints and limbs and do not pay much attention but this little ignorance lead to the birth of arthritis and then it becomes severe. In market, several pharma groups have introduced sustainedrelease tablets for joint pain.Glucosamine sulfate is commonly used for arthritis. Scientists have studied it extensively for this use. It is most often used for a type of arthritis called osteoarthritis. This is the common form of arthritis and can be treated with proper indications and directions provided by consultants and doctor.
Composition:
  • Each film coated tablet contains:
  • Glocosamine Sulphate USP 1500 mg
  • Excipients QS
Indication:
  • Glucosamine sulphate tablets are indicated for treatment of arthritis.
  • Glucosamine sulfate is a widely used as supplement that may help ease pain inknee osteoarthritis or joint pain; which causes when cartilage breaks down. It also helps to protect against the deterioration of cartilage.
Dosage & administration:
  • Oral administration as directed by the physician
  • For Osteoarthritis: 1500 mg once daily or 500 mg three times daily
  • For temporomandibular joint (TMJ) arthritis: 500 mg three times daily
Adverse Reactions:
  • Undesirable effects which may occur due to glucosamine sulphate are - constipation, diarrhoea, drowsiness, headache, heartburn, nausea and rash.
Warning & precautions:
  • Due to lack of safety data glucosamine sulfate is not recommended to pregnant or breast-feeding women.
  • Warfarin interacts with Glucosamine sulfate to cause bruising and bleeding that can be serious. Hence co-administration is not recommended.
  • Antidiabetic drugs interact with Glucosamine sulfate. Glucosamine may affect blood sugar and insulin levels hence monitoring is recommended for blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol level.
  • Glucosamine (sulfate therapy) should be stopped at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.
  • Medications for cancer (Anti-mitotic chemotherapy drugs) interact with Glucosamine sulfate, caution is recommended.
